American Tiger LLC is an advisory services firm with a deep focus on Cybersecurity and Life Sciences (BioTech).
Investment Methodology. Our focus is to identify innovation within certain sectors of Cybersecurity and LifeSciences or other technology domains of interest that are in an accelerated state of development or within early stages of market entry. We look for management teams that have the bench strength to execute their stated business plans.
Cybersecurity
Observation: The risk to governments along with both small and large enterprises is alike, however the resource allocation is not in lines with the situational awareness of the risks imposed especially for the theft of sensitive data (to include intellectual property) and the corruption of the network.
We observe the biggest threat associated with a network security is not only the integrity of the network but will also be deeply integrated with the health of nation states and companies and co-related to how we live our lives in society. Disruptive and alarming trends in the world of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and ever sophisticated algorithms have the potential to disrupt lives and society as we know it.
Predicament: With advancements of AI aided algorithms, perpetrators will have an ever-increasing source of sophisticated technology to mask their identities, cripple networks, demand ransom and engage in acts of espionage for geopolitical actors, their proxies and any number of non-state actors.
Opportunity: Traditional metrics and cost opportunity analysis may not work in how we rationalize investments within this sector. We believe that adopting innovations and technologies rather than chasing solutions in reactive measures will better serve the interests of governments (to include all the Ministries and Sovereign funds) business and all forms of organizations
Outlook: We are focused on identifying the best of minds and firms in the world to help protect and adapt to the cyber challenges of today and imminent threats from both state and non-state actors.
Life Sciences (BioTech)
Observation: The ability to enhance public health along with personalized health solutions to prevent illnesses and simultaneously also decrease the impact of genetic diseases on sections of society until today, has largely been challenged by the lack of viable medical and technological solutions and economic considerations.
Predicament: Healthcare and insurance related costs are not sustainable for large sections of the patient population. Additionally, preventive healthcare options are often only available to only the smallest portions of society. Large sections of society are usually left struggling in making ends meet with no additional resources to enhance their personalized health outcomes.
Opportunity: We are now living through a fascinating point in time when the world of traditional healthcare is employing multidisciplinary approaches using the advances of semiconductor related technologies that can integrate big data and artificial intelligence to bring innovative solutions to entirely new fields of life sciences.
Outlook: We look at the evolution of innovation to include the exciting fields of Cell Engineering, Gene Editing and Targeted Therapies to potentially provide breakthroughs in positive outcomes to the mysteries of many diseases that have dodged humanity for millennia.
